    VANESSA LIVELY

With a compelling mix of tempos and styles that embrace hints of urban, world, Latin, funk and pop, Lively’s songs fully capture her compassionate nature and love of community. An eclectic blend of alternative folk music bringing together a variety of stringed and percussive instruments, balanced by expressive lyrics.

After raking blueberries in Maine as a migrant farm worker and living in South America with her husband to do volunteer work in impoverished areas, Lively observed how strongly music connected people. Her music, she says, is an expression of that experience, filled with representative themes: “Community, living in solidarity with those around you. Feeling what other people’s struggles and joys are and being connected with them.” Her latest album Uncovering Stones truly shows how she feels those connections deeply – and when you listen, you will, too. It is an inspiring album full of energy and beauty.Alternative, indie, neo-folk music that speaks to dreamers, artists, laborers - all of us alike. Lively strikes a chord with the root of humanity, singing about hope, loss and love.Contemporary folk music with an eclectic blend of world influences.

    DOUG and TELISHA WILLIAMS1doug_and_telisha_williams

Doug and Telisha Williams hail from Martinsville, Virginia, where boarded up factories stand as monuments to how fast the world can change. When they write and sing songs about dying small towns, they know what they’re talking about. The unemployment rate where they live is 20.2 %. When you hear them sing songs about a couple of hard luck kids who made some bad decisions and wound up in jail, you’ve got to remember that Doug & Telisha are still good friends with those kid’s family. The songs for their latest record, Ghost of the Knoxville Girl, weren’t written by people who like to imagine what it’s like “out there,” instead they came from stories told across kitchen tables or between friends after a couple of pitchers at the Ten Pin.

“Seems like everybody we know is living what you read about in the papers,” says Doug. “The unemployment is 20.2%, and we’re all feeling a little desperate and pushed against the wall. This record couldn’t help but echo what we’re seeing and hearing. ”

Their hometown sits in the shadows of the Blue Ridge Mountains and you can hear, smell and taste that influence on their new record, Ghost of the Knoxville Girl. Like the very best singer-songwriters, this duo gives a voice to the struggles of everyday people, as well ghosts of the past. “When we opened for Charlie Louvin and heard him sing his amazing Knoxville Girl,” says Telisha, “I had to wonder about her side of the story. All I had to do was ask and she told us.”

Wherever Doug and Telisha go they always make quick friends with their audience, pulling them right into their lives. “That’s what it’s all about for us,” says Doug, “being out there, playing on the road, meeting people. Everything else is just... everything else.”

Danny Possesses a strong expressive voice and a compelling on stage presence, whether appearing solo or fronting his all-acoustic band, Los Bluegrass Vatos. BETH WOOD

Beth Wood began her musical journey in Lubbock, a high plains Texas town with a uniquely rich musical heritage that includes Buddy Holly, Natalie and Lloyd Maines, Mac Davis, and Joe Ely to name a few.  When she wasn’t dodging tornados and dust storms, Beth was studying classical piano, violin, harp, and voice and contemplating the greatness of her Dad’s Willie Nelson records.

With grandiose dreams of becoming a musician, a baker, or a cowgirl, Beth left west Texas to study voice and piano at Brevard College in North Carolina.  A detour from her classical studies led her to Austin, where she picked up a degree in literature and a guitar.  Beth began writing her own songs and quickly discovered a feeling of musical freedom that she has been hooked on ever since.  Fifteen years, thousands of shows, nine albums, three cars, and numerous awards later, Beth has never looked back.  Beth’s exceptional musicianship, crafty songwriting, and engaging, energetic stage presence have been winning over audiences from coast to coast.

“The Weather Inside,” Beth’s eighth studio release, is a case study in contrast.  A coming-of-age statement record from a veteran artist, Beth’s latest work embraces strength and tenderness, the polished and the well-worn, the broken and the hopeful heart.   Produced by Billy Crockett at Blue Rock Studio in Wimberley, TX, “The Weather Inside” delves deep into Beth’s creative reserves and delivers a strong collection of songs and performances to remember.

Beth and her husband and their dog Marble now live in beautiful Eugene, Oregon. When Beth is not writing and touring around the country playing clubs, festivals, and house concerts, she still occasionally finds the time to bake and ride horses.
