Recently over 4,000 UU’s gathered at General Assembly (GA), the annual meeting of Unitarian Universalists, to engage in justice work for people of all ages. Joining with the people of Arizona, the eight participants from our congregation worshiped, witnessed, learned and worked together. On Saturday, June 23, thousands of UU’s joined other people of faith and community partners at the infamous Tent City jail for a powerful candlelight vigil, speaking out against inhumane conditions and human rights violations. The representatives from UUFT left GA grounded in our faith, energized for justice and with resources to bring this work home to our Beloved Community.
